To provide a bait composition for insects of Vespidae for pest control of a nest of insects of Vespidae, by the bait composition, after hornets eat the bait composition on a bait place, the hornets fly to the nest, a colony of the nest of the hornets can be collapsed by nutrient exchange, and to provide a pest control method using the same composition.SOLUTION: There is provided a bait composition in which a poison bait including an insecticidal component for insects of Vespidae is blended. The insecticidal component includes either one or more of a boric acid compound, dinotefuran, fipronil, and if the insecticidal component is the boric acid compound, the boric acid compound is included by 0.5 mass% or more and 15 mass% or less to a total amount of the bait composition, if the insecticidal component is the dinotefuran, the dinotefuran is included by 0.3 ppm to 100 ppm to the total amount of the bait composition, and if the insecticidal component is the fipronil, the fipronil is included by 0.1 ppm to 100 ppm to the total amount of the bait composition.SELECTED DRAWING: None
