To provide a waste disposal method and disposal equipment wherein even if wastes with different water contents are taken in, the processing equipment can be operated stably and effectively.
Waste is collected from garbage ST to final processing equipment 50. Waste with high water content is collected to a first depot 20, and after once dried, it is thermally decomposed. Waste with low water content such as RDF is collected to a second depot 21 and is directly thermally decomposed. Char 7 after the thermal decomposition is, after pulverization, combusted in a melting furnace 5 to take out uncombusted substances as molten slag. Atomized waste such as powdered RDF may be collected to a third depot 71 and be combusted directly in the melting furnace 5. Even when waste with different water content is taken in, the disposal equipment can be operated effectively safely. Further, when electric power is generated by making use of combustion heat of the waste, power generation fitted to the demand for electric power is facilitated.
