To provide a waste heat utilization device capable of maintaining performance of an internal combustion engine, even when a pump breaks down, in the case where a drive system employs at least one of an exhaust gas recirculation path and a supercharger.
A waste heat utilization device includes a Rankine cycle 3, a first rotary shaft 29, a second rotary shaft 31, a two-way clutch 33, a pressure sensor 35, a controller 37, and an electric heater 39. A drive system 1 includes a turbo charger 7. The Rankine cycle 3 includes an electrically-operated pump P1 or the like. The two-way clutch 33 is capable of achieving a first state where a torque of the second rotary shaft 31 can be transmitted to the first rotary shaft 29 and a second state where a torque of the first rotary shaft 29 can be transmitted to the second rotary shaft 31. In the waste heat utilization device, when the controller 37 detects a failure in the electrically-operated pump P1, the electric heater 39 is operated. Thus, the two-way clutch 33 is switched from the first state to the second state.
