PURPOSE: To provide a water absorbable article having large water absorbing capacity even if thin, generating no movement of a water absorbable resin before use, capable of preventing the movement of a gel at the time of use and generating no change in shape.

CONSTITUTION: In a water absorbable article 5 wherein a water absorbable material is received in a bag having a water permeable sheet formed thereto on at least the single surface side thereof, the water absorbable material is a sheet like article containing 50-95wt.% of a water absorbable resin and spot fixing 6 is applied to the sheet like article in a ratio of 3-15 per an area of 1000cm2.
