Abstract:
To provide a water absorptive material which is capable of improving absorption characteristics (suction amount, absorption velocity, affinity, etc.), to blood in particular and obviates the drastic degradation in the absorption characteristics by blood components and to provide a blood absorbing article using the same.
The water absorptive material is a water absorptive resin containing a polyamino acid or its salt, in which the particles of the water absorptive resin are held joined to each other and the blood suction absorption amount in the measurement of the amount of blood absorption is ≥3 g/g. The blood absorbing article contains the water absorptive material described above.
