The water barrier device of a water jet loom comprises the water barrier member that is located closer to the cloth fell side than to the heddle frame and above the warps, a pair of supporting members that are installed on right and left frames, respectively, regulate the movement of the water barrier member in the longitudinal direction and support both right and left ends of the water barrier member so as to move the water barrier member and an opposing member installed opposingly to the middle part of both the right and left ends of the water barrier member. At least one of the water barrier member and the opposing member has a regulation part for regulating at least one of separation and approach of both the members.
