To provide a water-based coating composition which forms a coating film excellent in water resistance, moisture resistance, gas hole resistance, solvent resistance and scratch resistance when forming a thick film even during low-temperature baking at 90C, and to provide a method of coating a plastic molding using the composition.
The water-based coating composition comprises (A) an aqueous dispersion of a modified polyolefin prepared by dispersing an unsaturated carboxylic acid or an acid-anhydride-modified polyolefin (a) having 120C melting point and 30,000-200,000 number-average molecular weight into an aqueous medium, (B) a resin having at least one functional cross-linking groups selected from a carbodiimide group, an oxazoline group and a carbonyl group, and (C) a pigment.
