Abstract:

PURPOSE: A water-based ink for ball-point pen with excellent lubricity and giving a feeling of smoothness in writing, prepd. by additionally compounding a humic acid salt with a conventional ball-point ink compsn.

CONSTITUTION: About 1W15wt% water-soluble dye, about 10W40wt% water-soluble org. solvent, about 50W80wt% water, a primary solvent and about 0.01W3wt% humic acid salt, each based on the total wt. of the ink, are mixed and dissolved, if necessary, by heating to obtain a water-based ink for a ball- point pen. A sodium, potassium, ammonium or the ink salt may be used as the humic acid salt.
