Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the subject composition containing a water-based acrylic resin, a water-based amino resin and a specific modified water-based epoxy resin as resin components, having low organic solvent content and giving a coating film having excellent hot-water resistance durable to retort treatment, excellent processability and high hardness.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition contains (A) 30-65 pts.wt. of a water- based acrylic resin, (B) 30-60 pts.wt. of a water-based amino resin and (C) 5-20 pts.wt. (A+B+C is 100 pts.wt.) of a phosphoric acid-modified water-based epoxy resin produced by successively adding a phosphoric acid ester (preferably diethyl phosphate, etc.) and a polycarboxylic acid anhydride (e.g. trimellitic anhydride) to an epoxy resin to obtain a phosphoric acid-modified epoxy resin containing free carboxylic acid and having an acid value of 30-150mgK0H/g and making the resin to be soluble or dispersible in water preferably by adding dimethylethanolamine to a hydrophilic organic solvent solution of the resin to neutralize the carboxyl group.
