To provide a water-cooled mold for continuous casting for producing an ingot in which crystal grains are uniformly grown by suppressing occurrence of an air gap between a mold and a protector, and to provide a method for producing the ingot.
In the water-cooled mold for continuous casting equipped with a mold 3 made of graphite and having a rectangular cylindrical shape; a protector 1 made of a heat conductive material and holding the outer circumferential face of the fit mold 3; and cooling water passages 5, 8 arranged at the protector 1, wherein a molten metal fed to the upper part of the mold 3 is cooled so as to continuously cast the ingot at the lower part of the mold 3, each outer circumferential corner part of the mold 3 is chamfered, and further, a gap 9 is formed between the outer circumferential corner part of the mold 3 and the inner circumferential corner part of the protector 1 by the chamfering of the outer circumferential corner part.
