Title:
WATER COOLING STRUCTURE FOR MOTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3499745
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cooling performance of a motor by discharging air in a cooling water passage of a bracket.
SOLUTION: Cooling water is fed from a coolant inlet, flows through a water passage around a rear bracket 1 and is discharged from a coolant outlet, so that a stator 7 which is a heat generating body is cooled. A drain valve 4 is loosened to discharge air in the water passage. A notch 1a allows the air remaining in the upper part of the water passage to reach the water passage which communicates with an air vent hole 4a and an opening 1b allows the air in an upper part to be discharged, so that the contact area of the coolant and the rear bracket 1 is increased, and heat transfer is improved for higher cooling performance. When a sleeve 3 is inserted into the rear bracket 1 at assembling, the sleeve 3 can be inserted until its step-off 3a, without coming into contact with an O-ring, thereby preventing the O-ring from being damaged. The sleeve 3 is fixed positively so as to be sandwiched between the projection 1c of the rear bracket 1 and the projecting part 2a of a front bracket 2.
