Abstract:
To suitably carry out water electrolysis by allowing a large amount of raw water for water electrolysis to flow through a reaction area of a water electrolysis cell while controlling the power of a pump.SOLUTION: A water electrolysis cell 10 comprises a hydrogen electrode separator 31 and an oxygen electrode separator 41 each disposed on either side of an electrode body 21 formed of a pair of power feeders each disposed on either side of an electrolyte membrane. The water electrolysis cell 10 is of a rectangular shape, is disposed in the longitudinal direction and in the perpendicular direction, and is laminated in the horizontal direction. Raw water for water electrolysis is fed from communication ports 24, 34, 44 disposed along the lower long side of the water electrolysis cell 10 to communication ports 23, 33, 43 disposed along the upper long sides thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
