Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of improving energy saving performance by encouraging a user to proactively select economical operation.SOLUTION: A water heater: records actual performance information on the basis of operation control of a water heater in a normal mode on a previous day; calculates an energy consumption amount on the previous day from the actual performance information; calculates an energy saving amount by subtracting an estimated energy consumption amount on the basis of execution of the operation control in an economical mode from the calculated energy consumption amount; and displays information on the energy saving amount, for example a monetary benefit calculated by multiplying the energy saving amount by a unit energy price, on a display section 82 of a remote controller at the beginning of water heater operation on the next day. In displaying the monetary benefit to be gained on the day by turning on an economical mode switch, the water heater displays concrete amounts of money saved by reduced energy use in supplying hot-water, taking a bath and heating.
