PURPOSE: To obtain the subject treatment agent which can impart water repellency having excellent dry cleaning resistance, especially when used for the treatments of natural or regenerated fiber products (especially silk products) at low temperature, by compounding a fluorine-based, water- and oil-repelling agent, an aziridine-based compound and a metal alcoholates as essential components.
CONSTITUTION: This water- and oil-repelling treatment agent for natural and regenerated fiber products is obtained by adding a metal alcoholate (for example, aluminum sec-butyrate) to a combination of a fluorine-based, water- and oil-repelling agent with an aziridine-based compound (preferably, trimethylolpropane tri β-aziridinyl propionate). The treatment agent can especially give water repellency having excellent resistance to dry cleaning treatments, when used for the treatment of a silk product at a low temperature (80°C), can exhibit good flexibility without deteriorating the water-repelling effect, even when a silicone-based compound is together used, and is highly safe, especially because the skin irritation of the agent is low.
