Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-repellent article which includes a substrate, a first coating film containing silica fine particles on the substrate, and a second coating film containing a water-repellent compound on the first coating film and achieves both super water repellency and wear resistance, and a method of manufacturing the water-repellent article.SOLUTION: The water-repellent article includes a substrate, a first coating film on the substrate, and a second coating film on the first coating film. The first coating film contains a sintered compact of silica fine particles and an alkali metal compound and has a degree of sintering represented by formula [1] of 0.7-0.9. The second coating film contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a fluoroalkylsilane compound, a perfluoropolyether silane compound, an alkylsilane compound, a silazane compound, and a silicone compound.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
