Abstract:
To provide a nobel water-repellent material having water repellency and production method thereof.SOLUTION: The water-repellent material 10 contains a substrate 12, a skin layer 14 formed on a surface of the substrate 12, and a water-repellent layer 16 formed on a surface of the skin layer 14. The skin layer 14 comprises a porous film having at least on its surface an open hole having a planar shape of n-polygon (N≥3), the length of one side of the n-polygon being 20 μm or under. The substrate 12 comprises a metal (A) or ceramics (A) having a melting point or decomposition point of higher than 400°C. The skin layer 14 comprises a metal (B) or ceramics (B) having a melting point or decomposition point of higher than 400°C. This water-repellent material 10 is obtained by forming a composite skin containing an organosilsesquioxane particle on a surface of the substrate 12, followed by thermally decomposing the organosilsesquioxane particle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
