Abstract:
To provide a water softening apparatus that can regenerate a cation exchange resin and is capable of supplying water even during the regeneration of the resin.SOLUTION: A water softening apparatus is provided with: a water softening unit where raw water is softened by an ion exchange resin; a regeneration water supply unit that supplies regeneration water to the ion exchange resin to regenerate the resin; a water softening channel that is set when raw water is softened and leads raw water from a water inlet to a water outlet via the water softening unit; a regeneration channel that is set when the ion exchange resin is regenerated and leads regeneration water from the regeneration water supply unit to the water softening unit; a plurality of switching valves for switching settings between the water softening channel and the regeneration channel; an outflow detection unit that detects the flow of water from the water outlet to the outside; and a control unit that controls at least opening and closing of the switching valves. The control unit controls, when the regeneration channel is set, the switching valves to switch the setting of the regeneration channel to the water softening channel upon detection by the outflow detection unit of flow of water from the water outlet to the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
