Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin having excellent agglomerating action and antibacterial properties by making the resin contain a copolymer of an N-alkyl(meth) acrylamide with a vinylbenzylphosphonium salt monomer, and to provide an agglomerant using the same. SOLUTION: This resin mainly consists of a copolymer prepared by copolymerizing 100 mol of an N-alkyl(meth)acrylamide represented by formula I (wherein R<1> is H or methyl; and R<2> and R<3> are each H or a 1-6C alkyl, provided that they can not be H simultaneously) with 0.5-10 mol of a vinylbenzylphosphonium salt monomer represented by formula II (wherein R<4> , R<5> and R<6> are each a 1-8C alkyl; X<-> is an anion; and n is an integer of 1 or greater), desirably at least one member selected among tributyl-4- vinylbenzylphosphonium chloride, trihexyl-4-vinylbenzylphosphonium chloride and trioctyl-4-vinylbenzylphosphonium chloride.
