Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a water soluble or water dispersible polyisocyanate which contains specific two structural units per molecule, is incorporated with a hydrophilic group to make the polyisocyanate soluble or dispersible with respect to a crosskinking reaction and is effective for maintaining its cros skinking capability.

CONSTITUTION: This water soluble or water dispersible polyisocyanate contains (a) at least one structural unit corresponding to formula I (B is a group obtd. by removing an acidic hydrogen atom from a monofunctional blocking agent for an org. isocyanate) per molecule in statistical average and (b) the structural unit corresponding to formula II of an amt. sufficient for assuring the solubility or dispersibility of the blocked polyisocyanate in water per molecule.
