To provide a water sprinkler of an open rack evaporator capable of succeeding an operation stabilized over a long period of time by preventing marine organisms such as algae and shellfish from adhering and propagating on a panel surface in which seawater is overflowed from a trough disposed on an upper part of panels parallely disposed and flows down along opposite surfaces of each panel.
A horizontal ultraviolet irradiation lamp 7 which irradiates a panel 1 with light is provided movably laterally across each panel 1 on the side located below a trough 4 of the arranged panels 1, and seawater W flowing down along a panel surface is irradiated with ultraviolet rays. Further, a reflection plate 8 is provided on the side of the panel 1 located oppositely to the ultraviolet ray irradiation lamp 7 to reflect irradiated ultraviolet rays to the panel 1 side. Hereby, each panel surface is changed to an environment with irradiation of ultraviolet rays where marine organisms such as shellfish are eliminated whereby adhesion and propagation of such organisms on each panel surface are restricted.
