To provide a water sterilization device and a humidifier capable of controlling the elution speed of a bactericidal component, obtaining sufficient sterilizing speed and sterilization effect, and prolonging a service life.
The water sterilization device 100 includes a box body 1 having a water storage part 1w and an air part 1a formed therein, and a rotary body 3. The rotary body 3 includes a bactericidal component-containing member 2, and is rotated by a rotary mechanism 4 with a rotary shaft 3a as the center substantially parallel with a draft line 1k of the water storage part 1w. A predetermined range of the bactericidal component-containing member 2, therefor, reciprocates between the air part 1a and the water storage part 1w by one-way rotation or a pendulum-like swinging of the rotary body 3 to intermittently elute the bactericidal component into water. Further, when the rotary body 3 is made to freely hold water, water in the water storage part 1w is released into the air of the air part 1a by rotation or swinging of the rotary body 3 to humidify the air.
