Abstract:
PURPOSE: To smoothly and safely water-granulate molten slag by a method wherein a cooling water ejecting nozzle in the water, which is in the vicinity of a water surface facing the molten slag in a horizontal direction, and a water circulating nozzle positioned below the cooling water ejecting nozzle are provided in a water-granulating water tank for water-cooling and water-granulating the molten slag discharged from a melting furnace for waste.
CONSTITUTION: A water tank 21 is set below a molten slag discharge port 17 of an arc furnace 11, and a cooling water ejecting nozzle 41 positioned in the water W and in the vicinity of a water surface, which faces molten slag A flowing down under its own weight from the molten slag discharge port 17 into the water tank 21 when viewed in a horizontal direction, is mounted to the water tank 21. Also, a nozzle 51 for circulating water is mounted below the cooling water ejecting nozzle 41. The cooling water is ejected to the molten slag A immediately after it flows down under its own weight from the molten slag discharge port 17 into the water W in the water tank 21, and heat-exchanging is effected between them. Thus, the molten slag A is water-cooled and simultaneously water-granulated, and a jet of the cooling water ejected along a slant face 22 of the water tank 21 urges water-granulated slag B to drop down along the slant face 22. This prevents the molten slag from being stuck to and accumulated on the slant face 22.
