Water treatment comprises accelerating a stream of water, generating chaotic flow in the accelerated stream and passing oxygen into the chaotic stream. An independent claim is included for water treatment apparatus comprising a water acceleration section (32), a vortex section (34) for generating chaotic flow and an inlet (12) for passing oxygen into the chaotic stream.
