Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a waterfast dye compsn. for ink jet recording fluids which has a low solubility and a high waterfastness by using a specific N-substd. N-hydroxyalkylimino compd.
CONSTITUTION: This compsn. comprises (A) a liq. vehicle, (B) a dye, and (C) a branched N-hydroxyalkylpolyethyleneimine polymer modified with epichlorohydrin or an N-hydroxyalkyldiphenylguanidine substd. at about 80% of available nitrogen atoms. A pref. example of ingredient C is 3,3-bis- hydroxyethyl-1,1-diphenylguanidine substd. at 82% available nitrogen atoms. Pref., ingredient B is water-soluble and is selected from among direct dyes, acidic dyes, and edible colors.
