Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce a wave drift power acting on a marine structure, by mounting resistance members rotatable about a substantially vertical shaft to the marine structure, which resistance members generate resistance to a water current from one side different from that from the opposite side. CONSTITUTION:A marine structure 10 is constituted of a structure body 11 rectangular in plan and many support buoyancy members 12 provided under the body 11. The lower portion of each buoyancy member 12 is submerged under a water surface L, so that the body 11 may be horizontally supported by the buoyancy of the lower portion. Many sinkers 13 are provided, and mooring ropes 14 are connected to the buoyancy members 12. Many resistance members 15 are provided each between the buoyancy members 12 in such a manner as to be rotatable about a vertical shaft. With this arrangement, there is generated at the resistance members 15 a thrust in a direction counter to a wave advancing direction, that is, a direction of wave drift power, owing to motion of water particles of wave, thereby reducing the wave drift power acting on the marine structure. Accordingly, the marine structure may be easily moored, and a mooring device may be made compact.
