To provide a wave source estimation apparatus and a wave source estimation method in which accuracy in position estimation of a radio wave emission source is improved.
The present invention relates to a wave source estimation apparatus, including: an antenna part comprising a plurality of antenna elements arranged in a matrix shape; a receiver for sequentially switching and deriving reception outputs of the antenna elements; and a signal processor for arithmetically operating an arrival direction of radio waves from an output of the receiver, making an estimated point corresponding to the arrival direction into a two-dimensional image, and outputting the two-dimensional image. The signal processor divides estimated points positioned within a range of a predetermined distance from any arbitrary estimated point into groups, excludes exceptional estimated points and arithmetically operates the arrival direction of radio waves from positional information of estimated points included in each of the groups.
