PURPOSE: To obtain a waveform equalizer circuit for accurately correcting a negative edge even when a head is switched and surely reproducing data read out from the head relating to the waveform equalizer circuit for eliminating the negative edge at the reproducing time of the thin film magnetic head.

CONSTITUTION: This circuit is provided with a delay operating means 11 constituting a cosine equalizer making a signal read out from the thin film magnetic head an input signal and selecting a delay time and eliminating the negative edge superposed on the input signal, and a storage means 12 for storing the data within the zone range of a head position related to the delay time to be selected corresponding to the head to be selected by a head selection signal and outputting the data within the zone range by the head selection signal. Further, the circuit is constituted of a zone detection means 13 for detecting whether or not in which zone within the zone range outputted from the storage means 12 the head position showing a head position signal is included by adding the head position signal and the output of the storage means, and a selective means 14 for selecting the delay time of the delay operation means corresponding to the zone detected by the zone detection means 13.
