PURPOSE: To obtain a waveform equalized signal by inputting a reproduced signal from a magnetic recording medium to a tapped delay line to which a reflecting terminal element for reflecting part of an input signal is connected at a terminal, and weighting and adding voltages at respective taps.

CONSTITUTION: The reproduced signal from the magnetic recording medium is inputted to the tapped delay line 13 from one terminal. The terminal of this delay line 13 is made into a reflecting terminal by being grounded through a variable resistor 14 as the reflecting terminal element. Voltages at respective taps of the delay line 13 are added together by the weighting adder 17 consisting of weighting elements 15 connected to the respective taps and an adder 16 which sums up outputs of those weighting elements 15. The voltage led out of the terminal of the delay line 13, on the other hand, is amplified by an amplifier 18. Further, the output of this amplifier 18 and the output of the weighting adder 17 are processed by an adder and subtracter 19 by addition or subtraction to obtain a waveform equalized output at an output terminal 20.
