Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable an amount of critical wear to be detected highly reliably and the amount of critical wear to be changed freely without touching a rapier band itself. CONSTITUTION:A recessed groove 32 over a specified range in longer direction of rapier guides 3 and 8 is formed at one portion in width direction of a regulation surface 31 of the rapier guides 3 and 8 for a rapier band 2, a depth of this recessed groove 32 is set to an amount of critical wear alpha or more of the rapier band 2, and a sensor for the amount of critical wear is provided at the rapier guides 3 and 8. Also, a photoelectric sensor is provided at the rapier guide 8 in a layout where a light axis X of a detection light is transmitted through the rapier band 2 at a position which is equal to a sum beta of the amount of critical wear and an initial setting spacing according to the regulation surface 31 of the rapier guides 3 and 8 for the rapier band 2.
