PURPOSE: To achieve the speedup of the development of the improved product and the new product of belts having teeth by providing the correlation between the evaporation of the wear test of a canvas, which is the constituent member of the belt having the teeth, at a member level and the evaluation in running on a stage.

CONSTITUTION: Four abrasion parts 21 are provided at the side surface of abrasion jig in the protruding state. A rectangular flat surface part 22 is extending approximately in parallel with a surface to be abraded T1 of a canvas test piece T and has a specified length L in the back and forth directions. Curve parts 23 having the arc-shaped cross sections are continued to both end sides of the flat surface part 22, respectively, at one surface and have a specified radius R. The parts 22 and 23 are formed at the tip part of each abrasion part 21. under the state, wherein each abrasion part 21 is pushed to the surface to be abraded T1 of the test piece T, the abrasion part is moved in approximately in parallel with the surface to be abraded T1 and relatively back and forth with respect to the test piece T. Not only the sliding but also the stimulating condition of scratches are imparted to the surface to be abraded T1 of the test piece T, and the test is performed.
