Title:
WEAVING MACHINE HAVING NEEDLE BAR FOR WARP AND INSERTION ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003301345
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a weaving machine capable of producing both of a plain cloth and a leno cloth to solve the problem in production of a tufted carpet that a conventional production required two types of weaving machines for the plain cloth and for the leno cloth.

The weaving machine is provided with a needle bar (3) and an insertion element (4) to guide warps (13, 14), as two components for a shed- forming apparatus for production of the leno weave (1). The two components carry out a reciprocating vertical motion. A horizontal displacing motion (40b) right-angled to the direction of weft is carried out by the insertion element in addition to the vertical motion (40a). The tightening of the leno weaving is achieved by interaction of the motions of two components and insertion of weft (12, 12'). The shed-forming apparatus can be modified to control by cutting the horizontal motion (40b) of the insertion element on one hand, increasing strokes (h) of the vertical motions (30, 40a) of both elements on the other hand, in a manner capable of producing the cloth without tightening of leno cloth, especially the plain cloth (1').
