PURPOSE: To weave a woven fabric having a high density and/or a varied pattern by making a blade of a reed enter a gap defined by adjacent yarn guide pieces of a warp guide member in the range of the length of the yarn guide plates and in the vicinity of the end of the length and weaving at least three groups of warps.
CONSTITUTION: Warp groups (a), (b) and (c) are introduced through holes of each yarn guide piece 20 of warp guide members 12, 14 and 16 to a weaving end B, a warp group (d) is introduced through a hole of a yarn guide piece 34 of a warp guide member 30 to the weaving end B. A group 10 of the warp guide member and the warp guide member 30 are reciprocated in the mutually opposing direction. A reed 48 arranged at the tip of a crank lever 54 is subjected to circulation movement like an arrow C, advanced and retreated to and from a weaving end 2. A blade 58 of the reed 48 is accurately advanced to a gap between the adjacent two yarn guide pieces 20 and 34.
