PURPOSE: To perform stabler weaving of a woven fabric having excellent warp quality, by adjusting the height of a back rest roller in such a manner as to keep the peak warp tension in a warp opening stage within a specific condition in the high-speed weaving of a loom at a rotational speed higher than a specific level.

CONSTITUTION: In the high-speed weaving at a rotational speed of ≥600rpm, the height of a back rest roller is adjusted to satisfy the formula 0.7≤T2/T1≤1.5, wherein T1 is the peak tension of warp when the warp is opened on the top and T2 is the peak tension of warp opened at the bottom. A woven fabric having improved warp quality can be produced in stable operation state of the loom.
