Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wavy-patterned woven fabric with three-dimensional feeling.
SOLUTION: This method of weaving a three-dimensionally wavy-patterned fabric comprises as follows: a waveform ground texture 5 is densely formed through a plain weave by needle texture by the use of ground warps 3 with warps 2 and fragile warps 1 arranged in parallel and ground wefts 4, while the other portions are coarsely formed by the aid of a banister shaft, the fragile warps 1 are raised by 4-koshi or more and the resulting opening is needle- punched with other ground wefts 6 with a fineness of ≥40 denier by 4-koshi or more followed by closing the opening with fragile warps 1; this process is repeated at necessary intervals, thereby the other ground wefts 6 are formed to randomly and three-dimensionally wavy pattern corresponding to the waveform ground texture 5 by plain weave.
