Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weft-replenishing device for a loom effective for decreasing the insertion miss of weft and uniformizing the tension of the weft in insertion.
SOLUTION: The sagging of the tip of a weft 6 pulled out from a weft bobbin 7 is prevented by using a weft-tip supporting guide 15 placed between a holding means 14 and a cutter 11, retracted to the side of the holding means 14 in the cutting of the weft 6 with the cutter 11, forwarded to the side of the cutter 11 in the forwarding motion of a weft insertion chuck 8 and controlled at the forwarded end in a state freely movable forward and backward. The weft is slantly cut with the cutter 11 to prevent the mutual friction of the cut ends of the wefts 6 in the driving of the weft. The loom is further provided with a means 16 for applying uniform tension to the weft 6 inserted with the weft- insertion chuck 8.
