To provide a weighing apparatus which can achieve a reduction in thickness while maintaining measurement accuracy and can achieve an accurate measurement result with fewer errors, even when an object under measurement is placed in a displaced manner, with respect to a case in which a load acts on the center of a strain element.
The weighing apparatus includes a load cell in which a fixed end of the strain element is cantilevered and a mounting section which is supported by a movable end of the strain element and is placed facing the strain element, allowing the strain element to become deformed in accordance with the load of the object under measurement mounted on the mounting section. The strain element has a pair of strain sensors in the direction connecting the fixed end and the movable end and a pair of strain sections provided at the positions corresponding to the pair of strain sensors. The mounting section is arranged so that its both ends in the direction connecting the fixed end and the movable end are within a range having the positions, which are outside from each of the pair of strain sections by half the separation between the pair of strain sections, as both ends.
