To provide a weight measuring apparatus that is capable of making automatic adjustment so as to bring itself to proper contact with ground in accordance with an installation location, and making automatic adjustment to set the apparatus itself horizontal without imposing labor on a user.
This weight measuring apparatus comprises: a weight measuring means capable of measuring the weight of an object to be measured; a plurality of leg parts; an adjustment mechanism that is capable of adjusting the protruding length of each of the plurality of leg parts individually; a ground contact detection part that is capable of detecting contact of the plurality of leg parts with an installation surface; an inclination detection part that is capable of detecting inclination of the weight measuring apparatus; and a control part that controls operation of the adjustment mechanism based on a detection result of the contact detection part and a detection result of the inclination detection part. After controlling operation of the adjustment mechanism, the control part controls measuring of the weight of an object to be measured by the weight measuring means.
