Title:
WEIR PLATE-SHAPED LIQUID-LIQUID CONTACT TOWER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2679630
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a contact tower achieving high treatment quantity and contact efficiency by appropriately alternately arranging shelf stages each consisting of a shelf plate extending in a horizontal direction so as to leave a liquid passage and the weir plate vertically extending from the end on the side of the passage of the shelf plate and having an opening part formed thereto a little to the shelf plate.
CONSTITUTION: A heavy liquid inlet 21 and a light liquid outlet 22 are formed in the upper part of a tower 10 while a light liquid inlet and a heavy liquid outlet 24 are formed in the lower part thereof and many shelf stages 1 are arranged in the tower 10. Each of the shelf stages 1 consists of a shelf plate 2 having a passage 4 of a continuous phase liquid and a dispersed phase liquid formed thereto by notching a part of a disc and arranged horizontally and the weir plate 3 vertically extending from the end of the liquid passage 4 of the shelf plate 2 downwardly and an opening part 5 becoming the passage of the dispersed phase liquid is formed on the weir plate 3 on the side near to the shelf plate 2. Whereupon, the liquid droplets of the dispersed phase liquid flow out in an almost horizontal direction to come into contact with the flowing-down continuous phase liquid so as to collide therewith and the dispersed phase liquid column is torn off by the strong shearing force of the continuous phase liquid to be formed into small liquid droplets and uniformly dispersed.
