Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scrap caught between lower blades from interfering with other apparatus or strip by providing a scrap sensor for detecting whether scrap from a cut strip is caught between a pair of lower blades.
SOLUTION: A scrap sensor 30 for detecting scrap 5 is provided in the frame 17 of a rotary shear unit 70 in a flash welding equipment. Unless scrap 5 is fully discharged from the frame 17 after a strip is cut, the scrap 5 is detected by the sensor 30, with a lamp display or an alarm activated indicating the caught scrap 5. In the case where scrap 5 is caught, the operation of the equipment is stopped and resumed after the removal of the scrap 5, thereby preventing the scrap 5 from interfering with other apparatus or strip around.
