Title:
WELDING METHOD FOR MEMBERS HAVING GAP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3162182
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform welding with high strength without generating chemical reaction with oxygen, nitrogen, water, etc., in the air.
CONSTITUTION: A member 1 to be welded such as a wire rope having a continuous gap inside is held by a holding member 2 and welded to the opposite member 3 with a laser beam 6 from a laser beam torch 5. Prior to welding, shielding gas 4 composed of inert gas such as argon gas is blown out from the laser beam torch 5, simultaneously, it is sucked from a suction port 7 and an air chamber 9 in the holding member 2 is decompressed. Since the gap inside of the member 1 to be welded is replaced with the shielding gas by the pressure difference due to the decompression, the chemical reaction with the air at the time of welding can be prevented.
