Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a welt which is easy to manufacture and has smoothed surface.
SOLUTION: A welt 10 is manufactured by extruding a core 13 and a synthetic resin material for obtaining an intermediate molding. A skin layer 17 is formed on outer surface of a covering part 14 for covering the core 13 with a hollow part 16a between them. The skin layer 17 covers an uneven part formed on the outer surface of the covering part 14. Next, the intermediate molding is vulcanized and then folded so that the section is made into an almost U shape. At this time, the skin layer 17 is stretched to substantially butt against the outer surface of the covering part 14. Therefore, when a molding part 12 is molded on an end 11a of an extruded part 11, which is cut into a specified length, the hollow 16a has already been stopped.
