Abstract:

To obtain a western style baked confectionery having biscuitlike baked confectionery layer and caramel-like surface portion in a single step heat treatment.

A caramel-like material containing a foodstuff such as boiled fruits is put on a die-cut raw dough of western style baked confectionery material followed by heating to make the dough into a biscuit-like form, thus obtaining in a single step heat treatment the objective western style baked confectionery bearing caramellike surface portion, having two-layer structure made up of the caramel-like upper part structure and the biscuit-like lower part structure.
