Title:
WET NONWOVEN FABRIC FOR BATTERY SEPARATOR AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002151043
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a wet nonwoven fabric for a battery separator and its manufacturing method in which a short circuit prevention performance and an electrolytic solution retention performance are superior even if the thickness is thin, a gas passage property is superior and a mechanical strength and a strong power in thickness direction are sufficient while the fabric is not cut off by a burr or an edge of an electrode in battery manufacturing.

(1) This is the wet nonwoven fabric for the battery separator in which a thermoplastic resin short fiber, a polyparaphenylene benzobisoxazole fiber or its pulp state material, and a heat welding fiber are mutually and three-dimensionally interlaced, and these fibers are adhered by a thermofusion of one or all part of the heat welding fiber. (2) This is the manufacturing method of the wet nonwoven fabric for the battery separator wherein a water stream is made to collide with a mixed sheet produced by a papermaking method as a raw material with the thermoplastic resin short fibers, the polyparaphenylene benzobisoxazole fiber or its pulp state material, and a heat welding fiber so that the fiber is three-dimensionally interlaced, and subsequently one or all part of the heat welding fiber is melted by a heat treatment.
