For this wet tissue, a fiber material which contains 5 to 50 wt.% of an acrylonitrile based fiber, and the remaining section of which is 1 or two or more kinds selected from rayon, cotton, a polyester, polypropylene, and a polyethylene, is made a sheet base material. In this case, the acrylonitrile based fiber contains a metal compound, and has antibacterial property by a radical reaction. For the metal compound, that having a metal ion retention in the fiber by a 24 hour extraction in pure water at 25°C is 95% or higher is used.
