Abstract:

To provide a wheel alignment measuring device that can obtain a stable and reliable measurement value by eliminating a measurement by the peak part of the side wall of a tire, and by avoiding influence of the shape and surface state of the side wall and its change with time.

The device is provided with a pair of rollers 8 that rotatably support wheels 10-13 of a vehicle 9 to be tested, and an alignment 2 that can move a plurality of distance sensors 26-28 in a direction of the inside and outside of the radiation of each of the wheels 10-13. A measurement medium is sent toward the side wall of the wheels 10-13 from the distance sensor 26-28, the distance signal is inputted to an arithmetic unit 25, and an alignment element such as toe and camber can be calculated. The alignment elements can be calculated based on calculation values for calculating the average value of distance at a fixed section between the distance sensors 26-28 and the side wall where the sensors 26-28 cross and an average value in the fixed section of side walls 10a-13a where the distance sensors 26-28 cross.
