Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel steering device for a towed work machine capable of automatically operating the wheels of the work machine so that the interval between a tractor and the advancing track of the work machine is invariably kept constant even on a slope where the work machine is apt to drift when towing the work machine with the tractor.
SOLUTION: This wheel steering device comprises a drawbar sensor 5 detecting the drawbar angle θB between a drawbar 3 and a hitch 4, a hitch sensor 6 detecting the hitch angle θA between the hitch and the axle 7 of the work machine 2, a wheel sensor 9 detecting the actual steering angle θE of work machine wheels 8, a hydraulic mechanism 10 steering the wheels, and a computer 11 calculating the drift angle θC between the advancing directions of the tractor and the work machine based on the signals of the drawbar sensor and the hitch sensor, setting the target steering angle θD of the wheels 8, and controlling the hydraulic mechanism 10 so that the actual steering angle θE coincides with the target steering angle θD.
