To provide a wheel supporting mechanism that improves buffering performance, improves riding comfortableness, increases speed by reducing travelling resisting force, and prevents a slip and powder dust pollution of a tire accompanying the slip or the like.
The wheel supporting mechanism has a suspension device 100 that is disposed in a fork (front fork 5) and supports the wheel (front wheel 6). The suspension device has a connecting member 24 of which one end is oscillatably disposed at the lower end position of the fork and the other end is supported by the axle 22 of the wheel, and which is constituted to tilt in the travelling direction by a predetermined angle, and an elastic member 41 that is disposed at the lower end position of the fork and applies a restoring force to an oscillating motion of a connecting member.
