Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a castor for wheelchair of a light and simple constitution which can prevent side flow without a conscious operation and absorb a shock. SOLUTION: A pair of auxiliary wheels 1a and 1b arranged at the front right and left of main wheels of a wheelchair, a pair of shaft supporting members 3a and 3b, and 4a and 4b supporting both ends of wheel shafts 2 of the auxiliary wheels 1a and 1b, forks 5 supporting the pair of shaft supporting members 3a and 3b, and 4a and 4b, and supporting shafts 6a and 6b to rotatably mount the forks 5 on the wheelchair are provided. It is so constituted that the shaft supporting members 3a, 3b, 4a and 4b are formed of an elastic material, and the deformation of the elastic material in vertical direction of the outside shaft supporting members 4a and 4b is larger than that of the inside shaft supporting members 3a and 3b, when castors for the wheelchair are heading for the advancing direction.
