Title:
WHISLER TYPE NITRIDE AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3934713
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new and useful whisler type nitride capable of changing from a room-temperature paramagnetism to room-temperature ferromagnetism and provide a method for producing the nitride.
SOLUTION: Ti, Co and Sn which are each highly pure are weighed in stoichiometric ratio and these elements are melted to prepare TiCoSn ingot and the TiCoSn ingot is powdered and the powder is allowed to stand for a prescribed time in a nitrogen gas atmosphere under a prescribed high temperature and pressure to produce the objective whisler type nitride having a chemical composition represented by the formula TiCoNxSn (0<(x)≤1.0).
