Abstract:
To provide a white solid photoinitiator comprising 2-hydroxy-1-{4-[4-(2-hydroxy-2-methyl-propionyl)-phenoxy]-phenyl}-2-methyl-propan-1-one (COMPOUND 1), and to provide a production method of the white solid photoinitiator.
A synthesis method includes the steps of: (a) carrying out Friedel-Crafts reaction of diphenylether with an acylating agent such as alpha-bromoisobutyryl halide catalyzed by a Lewis acid; (b) reacting 2-halogeno-1-{4-[4-(2-bromo-2-methyl-propionyl)-phenoxy]-phenyl}-2-methyl-propan-1-one obtained in the step (a) with a hydrated base to obtain 2-hydroxy-1-{4-[4-(2-hydroxy-2-methyl-propionyl)-phenoxy]-phenyl}-2-methyl-propan-1-one dissolved in a solvent; and (c) crystallizing the thus obtained product.
